Hiding Empty or Blank Rows and Columns

Often there are "blank" elements within a cube or the result of a cube query that produces empty rows and/or columns. The application therefore provides a convenient mechanism to hide empty rows and /or columns in several places:

Place

The Query ribbon tab

Report Context Menu
The Selection Panel

Non Empty Effect

The simple example below highlights the effect. Notice that the "Components" row in the first grid is automatically removed in the second.

"Zero" Cells

This functionality does NOT remove rows or columns that have values in them. This includes rows or columns that have "zero". Often, with cube formatting, cells with zero value appear to be blank, but do have, in effect, a value. In this situation, the row or column will NOT be hidden.

Further, the ENTIRE row or column must obviously be blank or empty to be removed.
